I appreciated sending in a sample and finding out what type of editing I needed. I learned a lot from the editor that I can use in the future. The personal communication was also encouraging.

This first of her memoir series, Not How I Planned It, explores the challenges of crossing cultures and the unusual situations in which she found herself. Launching into the Unknown takes the reader through the adventures and surprises that Leoma experienced when she decided to work in Africa. She winsomely tells her story in the form of letters with honesty and humor.

Leoma grew up in Chattanooga, TN, and expected to live and work there. However, life took a series of turns and she ended up in Africa. In fact, she has spent more than 20 years living in the Sudan and Kenya. Now retired, she enjoys writing and storytelling.
